Epoxy on Canvas
Moon or Mars

Ekin Su Koç’s recent series "Moon or Mars" is questioning Anthropocene Epoch and sense of belonging, conflicts between the beauty/love perceptions and human centred contemporary life.

This series has emerged on the basis of the group exhibition INTERGALACTIC which is curated by İpek Yeğinsü in Istanbul at Anna Laudel Gallery as a parallel event to the 16th Istanbul Biennial

These works, combine Koc's collages and dried plants with epoxy on canvases.

As the works reflect a new perception which might be happening on another/non-existing planet, the canvases are rounded and have foggy atmosphere.

As an immigrant, Koc reminds us, the sense of alienation is not only for the immigrants but for all the people, who are living as strangers on/to earth.
